Dynamic<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>means “constantly changing.” The prefix dyna<\/em> means power<\/em>; however, dynamic IP addresses aren’t more powerful, but they can change (or be changed).<\/span><\/p>\n

A static IP address (also known as fixed IP address) is an unchanging number assigned to your computer or router.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your internet service provider (ISP) assigns a public IP address to your router, while your router assigns internal IP addresses to your connecting devices.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Your public IP address is one that the world sees, and every internet connection, website, or public-facing web-connected thing will have one. If you ask Google “What is my IP address?”, it’ll tell you what your public IP address is, as given to you by your ISP (note, if you’re using a VPN, this will come from your VPN provider instead).<\/span><\/p>\n

Most ISP’s will provide a static IP on request. Below are some local Internet Service Providers that provide static IP addresses.<\/span><\/p>\n
