This article provides you with information on how to setup secure directories via your Plesk control panel.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If you want to limit public access to specific areas of your website, you can secure them with a password using the \u201cProtected Directories\u201d feature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyone accessing such a directory or any directories and files inside it will be presented with a challenge, and will need to provide a username and password to view the protected content.<\/span><\/p>\n

Setup Secure Directories<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Step 1<\/strong>– Login to Plesk.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Login with username and password received when you completed your subscription<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Step 2\u00a0<\/strong>– Go to Websites & Domains >\u00a0<\/span>Password-Protected Directories<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Step 3\u00a0<\/strong>– \u00a0Click Add Protected Directory<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Step 4\u00a0<\/strong>– \u00a0Add details for protected directory<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Type in the path to the directory you want to protect (relative to the domain\u2019s document root directory) and, optionally, a title that will be displayed to visitors.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Click OK<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Step 5<\/strong>– \u00a0Click Add User<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      Step 6<\/strong>– \u00a0Add user Access details\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
