Open Outlook for Android<\/strong>. The icon looks like this:<\/section>\n

Tap Get Started<\/strong> if it’s your first time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Or, go to Settings<\/strong> > Add Account<\/strong> >\u00a0Add Email Account<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enter your full email address, then tap Continue<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enter your email account password and tap Sign In<\/strong> or Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outlook may request permission to access your calendar, contacts, etc. Tap Yes<\/strong> or Allow<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You’re now ready to use Outlook for Android!<\/span><\/p>\n

Set up email in the built-in Android apps<\/span><\/h2>\n

The appearance of Androids can vary so use these steps as a guide or consult the \u00a0manufacturer’s help for your \u00a0particular device. If you’re setting up in the built-in app, see the Android built-in app section below.<\/span><\/p>\n

Update your Gmail app to the latest version:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Open the Google Play Store app on your phone.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • <\/li>\n
  • Type “Gmail” into the search bar and then select Update<\/strong>.Note:<\/strong> If the update option is not available, you’re already on the latest version.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After the update is installed, tap the Gmail app icon to open it.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Tap the menu icon in the upper left corner > Settings<\/strong>\u00a0 > Add account<\/strong> > Exchange and Office 365<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Important:<\/strong> Do NOT<\/strong> choose “Outlook, Hotmail, and Live” unless you want to sync email only.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Enter your full email address and tap Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Enter your password and tap Next<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Follow any prompts you may get, including security permissions. You may also be asked to set your sync settings and a display name.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you use Office 365 for business, you may also be asked to give additional security control. In this case, choose Activate<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Go to your inbox. If you see an email that says “Action Required to Sync<\/strong>,” open it and tap Use another Mail app instead<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you don’t see this message and your emails are syncing, skip this step.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Pull down the Android notification bar by swiping down from the top of your screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

    If you see a notification that reads “Unable to sync calendar and contacts<\/strong>,” tap it. Then tap Allow<\/strong> to give access and you’re done!<\/span><\/p>\n

    Note:<\/strong> If you don’t see a sync error notification, you’re good to go!<\/span><\/p>\n
