called&nbsp;<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 13px; text-align: initial;\" href=\"http:\/\/products.office.com\/en-us\/business\/compare-office-365-for-business-plans#fbid=xaWS-wD_jGY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Office 365<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 13px; background-color: transparent; text-align: initial;\">, which provides many services such as web based email accounts. &nbsp;It is possible to use various services such as Microsoft&#8217;s Outlook Web App through Office 365 with your own domain name while having&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to use your domain with Office 365, you will need to first verify your domain name, and then setup the DNS records that Microsoft specifies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Gather the Domain Information<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First you will need to obtain some basic information so that you can create the DNS record necessary for verifying your domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Office 365, in the header, click on <strong>Admin<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Management<\/strong>, click on <strong>Domains<\/strong>. \u00a0Follow the directions on the screen to add a domain to Office 365 (if you haven&#8217;t already). \u00a0If the domain is already there, click on <strong>Pending Verification<\/strong> next to the domain you want to verify.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From the table on the Verify Domain page, record the <strong>Destination or Points to Address<\/strong> information.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need this information for the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Create a DNS Record<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In your 1-grid hosting account create a TXT record to verify to Microsoft that you control the domain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login to your <strong>cPanel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Domains<\/strong> section, click on the <strong>Advanced DNS Zone Editor<\/strong> icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Name<\/strong> field enter your domain name with a period at the end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>TTL<\/strong>, enter <strong>1<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>Type<\/strong>, select <strong>TXT<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>TXT Data<\/strong>, type or paste the <strong>Destination or Points to Address<\/strong> that you recorded in the previous Step 1: Verify Your Domain.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Verify Your Domain with Office 365<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the record you created successfully propagates through the DNS system, do the following to complete the verification<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Office 365, click <strong>Admin<\/strong> in the header.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Management<\/strong>, click on <strong>Domains<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the list of <strong>Domains<\/strong>, locate the domain you are verifying and click on <strong>Pending Verification<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the <strong>Verify Domain<\/strong> page, click on <strong>Verify<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the verification is successful, a dialog box will appear informing you that your domain has been added to your account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the domain verification fails, the changes you made in step 2 (creating the TXT record) may need more time to propagate. \u00a0Cancel the verification in Office 365, and return later to attempt verification again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on <strong>Finish<\/strong>, and your domain will now be listed as <strong>Active<\/strong> in the list of domains.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4: Changing Your DNS Records<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on which Office 365 services you wish to use with your domain, different DNS records will need to be changed. &nbsp;For example, if you are going to use Office 365&#8217;s Outlook Web App for your email, you will need to change the MX records to direct mail to Microsoft&#8217;s servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inside Office 365, click on <strong>Admin<\/strong> in the header.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the <strong>Admin<\/strong> page, click on <strong>Domains<\/strong> in the left pane.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the domain name you wish to setup and then click on the <strong>DNS Settings\u00a0<\/strong>tab. \u00a0This page lists the DNS records you will need to set to use your Office 365 services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will then change your DNS records in your <strong>cPanel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the required DNS changes have been made, it can take 4 to 8 hours for those changes to propagate (or update) worldwide. &nbsp;During that time it will start working for some people immediately, while others may need to wait for up to 8
