Nominet, the registry for .co.uk and .uk, uses a &#8220;push transfer&#8221; process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, Initiate a domain transfer request on 1-grid portal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must then you must ask your current registrar to change the <em>Registrar tag<\/em> (also known as an <em>IPS tag<\/em>) for your domain at your current registrar to\u00a0 REGISTRAR-EU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, your current registrar will then alert the registry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then the registry alerts 1-grid of the transfer, and we complete the transfer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is the IPS TAG?<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>An IPS tag, otherwise known as an Internet Provider Security tag, is a label that identifies domain registrars when administering domain name registration and DNS services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IPS tag system is a standard required by Nominet, the .uk domain name registry service, and is used to identify the hosting company associated with a specific .uk domain name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To transfer in .CO.UK and .UK domains<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to 1-grid website and initiate a transfer request.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then go to the registrar where the domain is currently registered and log in as the owner of the domain you are transferring. Follow the registrar&#8217;s transfer out instructions for .co.uk and .uk domains.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the current registrar, make sure the <strong>Registrant<\/strong> contact email address for the domain is correct and that you have access to it. To verify and complete the transfer, we will send a message to this address. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At the current registrar enter or select\u00a0REGISTRAR-EU for the <em>Registrar tag\u00a0<\/em>or<em>\u00a0IPS tag<\/em> (the destination of the transfer).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1-grid &nbsp;will send an you an email to complete the transfer.
