To protect your domain’s reputation and ensure that your emails are delivered successfully, MailChannels applies email sending limits to every domain. These limits help prevent spam-like behaviour, reduce delivery failures, and keep your communication secure and reliable.
This guide will explain each MailChannels limit in clear, easy-to-understand terms so you can send confidently, avoid interruptions, and follow safe sending best practices.

What This Means
Email restrictions are safeguards that help ensure your messages reach their recipients safely. MailChannels monitors sending behaviour and applies limits to protect your domain from being flagged as harmful or spammy.
These limits also prevent sudden spikes in traffic, excessively large emails, or bulk-sending patterns that could negatively impact your domain reputation. By staying within these guidelines, you help maintain strong deliverability and avoid unnecessary email failures.
Email Sending Limits with MailChannels
1. Emails Per Hour (Sending Volume Limit)
To maintain a healthy sending reputation, we recommend starting with 100 emails per hour, especially when sending newsletters, announcements, or promotional content. This allows MailChannels to recognise your sending pattern as safe and consistent.
You can gradually increase this volume over time once you’ve built a stable reputation and cleaned your mailing lists.
Important: Every recipient counts toward your hourly limit.
For example:
- Sending 1 email to 5 recipients (To/CC/BCC) counts as 6 emails.
Keeping within this limit helps prevent temporary blocks or interrupted delivery.
2. Email Size Limit (Attachments + Message Body)
MailChannels allows messages up to 25 MB per email, including attachments.
This means that the below applies and cannot exceed 25 MB in total.
- A single large file, or
- Multiple smaller files combined
Tip: If you need to send something larger, use a cloud-sharing link such as Google Drive, OneDrive, WeTransfer, or Dropbox to ensure smooth delivery.
3. Recipients Allowed (Maximum per Email)
To protect deliverability and prevent spam-like patterns, you may send an email to a maximum of 25 recipients at once.
This includes:
- To
- CC
- BCC
If you need to reach a larger group, we recommend sending your message in smaller batches or using email marketing tools designed for bulk delivery.
4. Online Storage Quota (Mailbox / Disk Space Limits)
When your mailbox or hosting disk space reaches its limit, your services will automatically stop until space is freed.
This may affect:
- Sending emails
- Receiving emails
- General hosting functions
To restore full functionality:
- Delete old or unnecessary emails, or
- Upgrade to a larger hosting package

5. Bandwidth Limit
When the allocated bandwidth for your hosting package is reached:
- Your services will temporarily stop
- Email sending and receiving may be interrupted
- Website availability and hosting functions may be affected
To restore service, you will need to upgrade to a hosting plan with higher bandwidth.
Once you receive our bandwidth notification, we recommend upgrading as soon as possible to prevent ongoing interruptions. If you’re unsure which plan suits your needs, our Support Team will help you choose the best option.
