How to Update Your Domain’s Nameservers at 1-Grid

What Are Nameservers?

Nameservers are a key part of the Domain Name System (DNS). They connect your domain (e.g., yourbusiness.co.za) to the server where your website and email are hosted. Nameservers make sure your domain points to the right place online.

If you’ve just registered a domain or moved your hosting, you may need to update the nameservers to make sure your website and email work correctly.

When Do You Need to Update Nameservers?

You may need to update your nameservers if:

  • You’ve registered a new domain and want to point it to your hosting.
  • You’ve transferred your hosting to 1-grid.
  • You’ve set up a VPS, Web Services, or cPanel/Plesk hosting package.
  • You have email or website hosting on an external platform and would like to point your domain to that server.
