Viewing Your Email Settings in Windows Plesk

If you’re setting up your email in Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail, or on your mobile device, you’ll need your correct mail server settings.

This guide will show you exactly where to find them in Windows Plesk, step by step.

Nothing in this process will delete emails, change your website, or affect other users.

By the end, you’ll have the exact settings needed to complete your email setup confidently.

Viewing Your Email Settings in Windows Plesk and Webmail

What These Email Settings Are (And Why They Matter)

Included in Email Settings
  • Incoming Server
  • Outgoing Server
  • Port numbers (IMAP, POP3, and SMTP)
  • Username
  • Authentication Notification

These allow your device or app to connect to your mailbox securely.

When These Settings Are Needed
  • Setting up a new email app
  • Migrating to a new device
  • Troubleshooting send/receive errors
  • Configuring third-party mail services

Which Settings and Ports Should I Use?

Recommended:

  • SMTP (authentication enabled)

Avoid POP3 unless specifically required.

Viewing Email Settings in Windows Plesk

1: Log into Windows Plesk

2: Go to Mail

  • From the left-hand menu, click Mail to see a list of email addresses for your domain.

3: Locate Your Email Address

  • Navigate to the email address for which you need the settings.

4: Click on Mail Client Setup

  • On the right-hand side of the email address, click this to open the window.

5. Select Manual Setup

What You’ll See
  • Mail server username
  • Outgoing mail server (requires authentication)
  • Incoming mail server
  • Supported outgoing mail protocols
  • Supported incoming mail protocols
  • POP3, IMAP and SMTP Ports

Note:
If you are on a Reseller hosting package using default secure settings, always copy the server details exactly as displayed in your account.

IMPORTANT: Always copy the values exactly as displayed in your Plesk account.

Mail Settings for Domains (Important)

If needed, you can also verify domain-level mail status:

Go to:

  • Mail → Mail Settings

Ensure:

  • Mail service is enabled for the domain
  • Correct mail routing is selected

Viewing this does not change any mail routing unless you manually modify settings.

Advanced (Optional) (For Technical Users)

If using external mail services (e.g., Gmail as a mail handler):

  • Ensure local mail service is disabled if using an external MX
  • Confirm correct mail routing under Mail Settings
  • Check firewall or outbound port restrictions if SMTP fails

If custom DNS or MX records are configured, server names may differ.

Before You Move On

  • Copy settings directly from Plesk to avoid typos
  • Confirm SSL/TLS is selected
  • Ensure authentication is enabled
  • Use your full email address as the username

If This Didn’t Work

  • Confirm the mailbox exists
  • Reset the email password
  • Check that the mail service is enabled for the domain
  • Verify your network isn’t blocking SMTP ports

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Entering only the username without the domain
  • Using Non-SSL
  • Using incorrect ports
  • Copying settings from another domain
  • Changing Mail Settings instead of just viewing them
