How to Manage PHP Extensions in cPanel with 1-grid

Enable or disable required PHP modules through the cPanel PHP Selector to resolve missing extension errors.

If your website or application reports that a PHP extension is missing, you may be able to enable it directly through cPanel on your 1-grid hosting account. This guide shows you how to locate your PHP extensions, toggle the specific module you need, and verify that your website operates correctly afterwards.

How to Manage PHP Extensions in cPanel | 1-grid

Before You Begin

Before making any configuration adjustments, make sure you have:

  • Access to your 1-grid Customer Zone
  • An active legacy web hosting account using cPanel
  • The exact name of the PHP extension required by your application or script

💡 Tip: Unsure which module your code demands? Cross-reference your script error logs or application setup requirements before ticking random boxes.

Follow These Steps

1. Open cPanel

Log in to your 1-grid Customer Zone, locate the hosting service associated with your website, and select Login to cPanel.

2. Open PHP Selector

Inside your cPanel home layout, scroll down to the Software cluster panel and select Select PHP Version. This opens the native PHP Selector environment.

3. Check Your PHP Version

Before activating any modules, verify your active runtime environment version. Certain PHP extensions only deploy under particular PHP versions.

4. Enable or Disable the Extension

Navigate to the Extensions tab inside the PHP Selector screen:

  • To Enable: Select the checkbox next to the target PHP extension name.
  • To Disable: Clear the checkbox next to an active module.

Note: Only enable the explicit module required for your platform to avoid unneeded configuration overhead. Click Save or Apply once finished.

5. Test Your Website

Open your live application in a fresh browser tab. Re-test the exact function or plugin that previously threw an error warning to confirm smooth data execution.

What Happens Next?

Changes take effect immediately upon saving. If your site still throws an error notice after activating the module, your software might require a different PHP baseline version or an adjacent library package.

You’re Ready!

Your required PHP configuration extensions are successfully updated. Re-verify your platform performance to ensure standard operational behaviour.
