- When you buy a dedicated server hosting plan, you are given root access to the physical machine which is the highest level of administrative access there is. It is as if you are in front of the machine itself, logged in as the root user (AKA superuser). Everything you do from root is your business, and yours only. We don't ever step in unless explicitly requested such as through our support channels.
- SSH (Secure Shell) is a protocol that lets you and your development/operations teams securely communicate with your dedicated server over the internet from anywhere, remotely. Via the SSH protocol, you can connect to your server over an encrypted session as the root user and make changes to your operating system, install software, manage and run your own web servers, databases, virtual machines, containers, and so on. The details of your SSH credentials will be emailed to you when you sign up for a dedicated hosting plan and can also be found by logging in to the Customer Zone.
